It's win-win with Nominal referral

Subject->Revision->New Subject

A few weeks ago I heard a podcast of some movie writer that explained the core of every good story. His idea was that EVERY good story from the beginning of time and up to current blockbusters must follow the same formula: subject, revision, new subject.

The story always begins with the subject:

Nominal is an accounting software package that was developed by an Australian developer (me) to support the needs of Australian micro businesses. It compares favourably with existing packages such as MYOB and QuickBooks, on simplicity, ease of use, web features and price.

The subject usually has a problem or dilemma:

Existing software vendors are large enterprises; they have the market research, the channel, the partners, the customer list, the market share, the development team and the customer support (overseas) to offer a complete solution. They rarely innovate and with pressure from investor mostly lower value and increase price.

Never the less, market leaders enjoy very strong recognition with their potential customers and very strong influence with the customer's influencers - i.e. accountants. And our hero finds it very hard to compete. Customer feedback is excellent, word of mouth is very positive and product is bringing more and more value but still market penetration remains low.

What can be done?

The revision:

Amongst the myriad of offline and online marketing options, one has the power to save the day: The referral program. A positive MENTION to A new customer has great power. It provides value to the referrer helping a mate by telling them about a product that can help and value to the mate by being provided a solution to their problem.

A good referral program must provide value to both sides. The Nominal referral program will pay 40% in referral fees paid in halves to both parties!  20% to the referrer and 20% to the customer!

Every Nominal customer that is going to refer Nominal to another paying customer will receive 20% of the new customer purchase price. The new customer will also get 20% of the purchase price back!

In affect we're splitting the revenues 60/40 with our referral program - without raising the prices.

A new subject:

The months leading to the end of the Australian financial year are critical in the life's of any accounting software vendor (and probably accountants and bookkeepers as well). We are hoping that with your help we can use this initiative and provide value to many more Australian micro businesses this year.

The Nominal referral progam:

How does it work?

When a prospective Nominal customer uses the link you shared with them a cookie (not spyware or anything nasty) is stored by their web browser.

When they're ready to make a purchase (after a day, two or a month) your affiliate Id is going to be stored with their purchase. When the payment is made, we will notify you and them of the purchase and pay back the 20% to each of you.  You can contact us if you believe a purchase was made using your referral id.
